Warm Greetings and Welcome

I’m glad you found me.

My approach to therapy is quite simple. It’s entirely about you! You have come to therapy for a specific concern or purpose, so the focus of our sessions will be dictated by your needs. We will work together on defining your goals and how best to achieve them.

I believe that therapy can be lighthearted and positive. While we may touch on some difficult subjects in our conversations, it’s more about discovery, change, growth and learning how to shape your life into a tale of triumph, healing, understanding, and love.

We can’t control the conditions around us but…

We can learn new skills that allow us to cope and respond with a sense of choice, acceptance, and honesty. We will redirect your attention to focus on what matters now and the present moment, not about trying to block out unwanted thoughts. Give your brain a rest and stop focusing on the negative and learn to live a more balanced life.

I utilize the theories of mindfulness, positive psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, also known as ACT, in my work with you. The mindfulness skills you learn will help you become more in tune with your habitual thoughts. These thoughts often keep us from seeing the bigger picture of what is going on in our lives.

Mindfulness helps to encourage curiosity and exploration of what is hidden in and around you. Positive psychology will help uncover your values and forgotten strengths – strengths that are critical in making the changes you need for a more fulfilling and happy life.

Let’s look at the components of ACT.

Acceptance – learn skills that will help you respond to life’s challenges differently. Learn to be kind and compassionate with your struggle. Accept what you are experiencing and disarm the struggle you have with unwanted feelings and thoughts. Learn to let go and lessen the suffering.

Commitment/Change – identify your values and what you want your life to look like. Go forward in a direction that is unique to you. Learn to live in the moment.

Take Action – you will become more comfortable with your inner emotional discomfort, moving forward in the direction of your chosen goals.

Make the commitment to yourself.
