Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
My office is in the old town of Tustin, on the corner of El Camino Real and Third Street.
250 El Camino Real, #206 Tustin, CA 92780
Can I use insurance?
Please contact me directly about insurance information as my participation in insurance panels varies.
If you have a PPO plan and I am not currently participating, you do have out-of-network benefits that can be applied to your session costs. Please check with your individual plan for details.
What is the cancellation policy?
Since your appointment is a special time set aside just for you, I require a 24-hour notice of cancellation to avoid being billed for your session.
What are your rates?
My rates are comparable to other therapists in my area. $120 for individual sessions and $140 for couples’ therapy. I also provide package pricing paid in advance for six sessions at the rate of $620 which is a discount of $80. Feel free to ask me for details.
Can therapy really help me?
Great question! Therapy is a courageous act, and it’s not easy uncovering painful memories or feelings. It’s important to review difficult issues (with your permission, of course) to gain a better understanding about how you became the person you are today. Sessions can be filled with laughter and tears, but it is always a place filled with compassionate listening and understanding. Progress will be based upon how each session builds on top of the other.
How long will it take before I feel better?
When you begin therapy, it is best to attend weekly sessions for the first six weeks. Therapy is all about you, so it allows me the time in which to get to know you and help you set goals for therapy. After the six weeks, we can determine together how often you need to come – weekly, or biweekly. We will always be working toward YOUR goals, and I will check in from time to time regarding your progress.
Will you tell me what I need to do to feel better?
Therapy is a process where we explore and often uncover who you truly are. If I told you what to do or how to behave, you would not be your authentic self, nor would you be able to learn the skills and confidence in which to make important decisions on your own. New coping skills, self-reflection and understanding gained during therapy will enable you to make future decisions in your life without the help of a therapist. I will make suggestions and challenge you to have multiple points of view, but I will never tell you how to live your life or assume I know what is best for you. That decision is exclusively yours.
